Synopsis[]
Ken realises something is wrong with Peter. Deirdre buys her wedding dress material for Blanche to make up. Annie tries to get Blanche to change her outfit but Blanche tells her it doesn't matter to her. Ken discovers Peter has been playing truant. Deirdre is surprised to find Billy siding with Annie over the dresses. He accuses her and Blanche of ganging up on Annie. She tells him she no longer wants to live in the Rovers when they're married. Peter tells Ken he doesn't like Glasgow; he wants to be with him.
This is also the episode when viewers are giving a shocking revelation: Frank Barlow is no more, and has been dead for at least a short while.

- In most tie-ins to Coronation Street, the date of this episode is given as when Frank Barlow passed away. However this isn't the case, in the episode Peter asks Ken about what happened to grandfather Frank, in which Ken says that he is dead, meaning the event took place prior to this episode. In reality Frank's actor Frank Pemberton passed away on 26th March 1971, six weeks after his final appearance as the character on 3rd February. The date of this episode was likely given as it was the first official mention that Frank was dead. The date is no longer official as of 2020 as it isn't listed among death dates of characters in the 60 Years of Coronation Street book, although this leaves Frank's official date of death unknown as no new date is provided.
