Character and cast observations
This episode featured the final appearance of Lynne Perrie as Ivy Brennan after 23 years in the soap. Ivy was killed off offscreen in Ep 3899 - 23 Aug 1995. It was claimed that Lynne was scked due to having cosmetic surgery on her lips without consulting her bosses, but Lynne denied this, as do the show's producer at the time, saying they felt the character of Ivy had simply run her course.
