Story[]
Stan Ogden is ready for his new job as an ice cream salesman. Minnie Caldwell is still in bed ill. And Bet Lynch visits the Rovers Return, as she has a job at the factory. The Bonnetti ice cream van is doing the rounds, and Mrs Bonnetti is not pleased that Stan is selling ice creams on her family's patch. Irma Barlow has a new job at the factory. Mary Bonnetti vows to get even with Stan for taking away her trade. She says she is not the only Bonnetti in the area, and Stan says he is not the only Ogden. They declare an ice cream war.

Julie Goodyear debuts as Bet Lynch in this episode, in a 9 episode guest stint. Bet was bought back to the show in 1970, and became a regular from then on to her 1995 exit, with brief returns in 2002 and 2003.
