Biography[]

Backstory[]

Fiona Brown was born on the 25th September 1984 to single mother Cilla Brown.

2001-2014[]

Fiz arrived on the street as the troublesome foster daughter for Roy Cropper and Hayley Cropper. She left the street not long after, although returned a few months later in which she got a job at the Underworld. She would eventually make amends with the Croppers and become close friends with them. In 2003, Fiz's loudmouth mother Cilla and her younger half-brother Chesney Brown arrived on the street and in with Les Battersby. The Browns and Battersbys merged in 2005 when Les and Cilla married.

Les left the street in 2007, and Cilla later moved on a few months later to Las Vegas after inheriting a lot of money. Fiz's ex-boyfriend Kirk Sutherland attempted to look after Chesney but wasn't up for the task. In 2008, Fiz took custody of her brother to ensure he wouldn't go into care, and moved in with him at Number 5 Coronation Street.

Fiz was also involved with John Stape, a former boyfriend she met at a disco prior to moving to the street. She had reunited with John in May 2007 when she discovered he was a teacher at Chesney's school, although the relationship fell apart when Fiz found out he was seeing schoolgirl Rosie Webster.

John returned in Fiz's life in mid-2008, and saved Chesney from bully Kenzie Judd. Although Fiz still loved John, she found it hard to forgive him for his previous behaviour. Although eventually she warmed up to him, and reconciled their relationship, unaware that he had kidnapped Rosie and locked her in his dead grandmother's attic. Fiz later discovered the truth when she went to feed the "cat" (a ploy John used to see Rosie) and ended up releasing her. Fiz exposed John's crime to the police and he was taken into custody. Rosie's mother Sally originally thought Fiz was in on the crime, although soon came to realisation this wasn't the case. Fiz attended John's trial in January 2009, where he received a two year sentence, with possible parole after one year.

Fiz began visiting John in April 2009 when she planned to homeschool a bullied Chesney and needed John's advice. She did it for Chesney's sake, although found herself falling for John again and they reconciled their relationship once more. She kept it a secret from the street, although the truth came out and she ended up being shunned by Chesney and some of the street residents. John felt remorse for Fiz's plight and broke off with her, which caused him to fall into a deep depression and being placed on suicide watch. Fiz spent weeks campaigning to see John again and chained herself outside the prison. John realised Fiz did really care after all and he agreed to visit her, and they got back together. They later got engaged and married in the prison chapel.

John was released near the end of 2009 for good behaviour and returned to the street, much to the Websters disgust. Sally launched a hate campaign against the Stapes and she graffitied their window during the night. Rosie later made a false accusation against John that he tried to make a pass at her. But John later exposed Rosie's lies during a meeting held by the residents, and he was accepted back into the community.

Despite the hope for a good married life with John, things would become really complicated. Fiz went along with John to the retirement party of his former teaching colleague Colin Fishwick. where he and the other teachers welcomed him back with open arms and weren't bothered by him kidnapping Rosie. During the party John stole paperwork belonging to Colin and returned home with them, and unveiled his plans to steal Colin's identity to return to teaching. Fiz was dead set against the idea, although she later agreed to it as she knew it would make John happy to going back to what he did best. John was forced to leave when discovered by former colleague Charlotte Hoyle, who had an unhealthy crush on John. Unknown to Fiz, John and Charlotte hid Colin's body underneath the knicker factory after Colin died of a stroke. Fiz grew fed up with Charlotte constantly hanging around John and threatened her to stay away. Fiz returned to John and revealed she was pregnant.

On the night of 9th December 2010, Fiz attended Leanne Battersby's hen party at the Rovers Return, with John meant to be attending Peter Barlow's stag night at the Bistro bar at the end of the street. An explosion erupted at the Bistro which caused a tram to derail into the street and destroying the Corner Shop and Kabin. Fiz feared John was inside the building and went into a panic, unaware that just prior to this he attacked Charlotte with a hammer at their house. Fiz went into premature labour and gave birth to a baby girl in hospital. John eventually visited Fiz after ensuring Charlotte would perish to cover his tracks.

Following John having a nervous breakdown and being admitted to hospital, Fiz struggled financially, especially when it came to a premature Hope's discharge. When Colin's dead mother Joy Fishwick left him money in her will, Fiz took advantage of John previously posing as him in order to gain the inheritance, and she posed as Colin's fictional wife. Although John was released from hospital and all seemed good, things got worse when his crimes as a serial killer were exposed. He was revealed to have conceived Colin's body, and confessed to killing Charlotte and Joy (although the latter unintentionally). John attempted suicide by jumping from a hospital roof, although he survived and fled the country. Fiz was accused of being involved in the deaths and was held on remand. John returned to Coronation Street to try and clear her name, although was caught in a car crash. He confessed on his death bed to police, and passed away. Although Fiz was initially found guilty, she was eventually acquitted and returned to normal life on the street.

Fiz grow close to her ex-boyfriend Tyrone Dobbs, and began supporting him when he was being abused by his girlfriend Kirsty Soames. Tyrone remained with Kirsty due to her being pregnant, and later giving birth to a baby girl named Ruby. Tyrone planned to marry Kirsty in order to gain custody of Ruby, which would release him from Kirsty's grasp and let him get with Fiz. But on the wedding day Kirsty discovered a secret phone that Tyrone used to communicate with Fiz. During a heated confrontation Kirsty fell down the stairs and was put in hospital, and she told the police that Tyrone pushed her. Tyrone was arrested and held in prison awaiting trial, and Fiz supported him. Fiz had to battle the naysayers of the street who took Kirsty's side, although she gained the support of her close friends and boss Carla Connor. Kirsty later had a change of heart and confessed to the court that she lied about what happened. Tyrone was released and Kirsty was imprisoned and sentenced for a year. Kirsty allowed Tyrone to have full custody of their daughter. Fiz and Tyrone made their relationship official following Kirsty's downfall, and she moved in with him at Number 9 Coronation Street.

In late 2014, her mother Cilla returned after seven years away. Cilla revealed that she was diagnosed with osteoporosis and that her bones were like "sticks". Chesney wanted nothing to do with Cilla due to her abandoning him as a youngster all these years ago. Fiz was more accomodating despite her frosty relationship with her mother, and returned to Wolverhampton with Cilla to look after her.

2015-[]

Fiz returned to the street in June 2015 after spending seven months with Cilla. Fiz's daughter Hope was diagnosed with cancer, and she had a magical Christmas later in the year. Hope managed to make a recovery much to the relief of her family.
