George Greenwood was an unseen character and the father of Liz McDonald and the gran of Steve McDonald and Andy McDonald.
Not to be confused with the George Greenwood (1968-1971) onscreen character. Ironically though, the 1968-1971 character also had a daughter called Lizzie Greenwood but was married to Agnes and had a son Robert. Liz McDonald has never mentioned any siblings, and her father was married to Nancy. However, the two George Greenwood's may have been cousins.
As of 2018, it is not known whether George is still alive.
