Mr Heslop was a local crook who sold Rita Fairclough a car which had a lot of faults with it, and was not worth the money he charged Rita for it. Brian Tilsley had heard of a Mr Heslop who kept saying he needed money urgently as his wife was dying. Brian told Rita, and she stopped the £800 cheque before Heslop could cash it. Brian confronted Heslop and he left. Heslop was played by David Hatton.
