Neil Beckett was a character in Coronation Street in 2014. He was the estranged husband of Andrea Beckett. Neil was played by William Travis.

Backstory[]
Neil and Andrea married in 1994, and shortly afterwards they had a daughter named Jessica. Neil worked as an engineer and spent a lot of time away from home. With their daughter grown up and having moved out, Andrea began attending college in 2013 to get educated and met Steve McDonald, although she fell in love with Steve's friend Lloyd Mullaney. Andrea began a secret relationship with Lloyd, not informing him that she was already married, and Neil was oblivious as he went to Nigeria for three months on an engineering job.
2014[]
In June 2014, Neil returned to the United Kingdom and showered a surprised Andrea with presents, with him being unaware about her affair with Lloyd. He postponed his return trip to Nigeria in order to spend more time with Andrea, and proposed that they should visit Jessica in Liverpool. But Andrea put him off, and it came out about her relationship with Lloyd, much to Neil's devastation. Andrea moved onto Lloyd as she had fallen out of love with her husband. Neil began to stalk then by turning up on Coronation Street and hanging around, although acted in a calm and unnerving manner, and didn't resort to any aggressiveness. His cool attitude irritated Lloyd and Andrea, especially as Neil seemed to behave in an unstable manner and acting like Andrea was still in love with him.
In September 2014, Andrea demanded a divorce when Neil overstepped the line. Andrea and Lloyd tried to get their own back at Neil by acting pally and friendly towards him rather than showing irritation for his behaviour, but he saw through their ploy and vowed to split them up. Later on Neil overheard Lloyd discussing wedding arrangements and wrongfully assumed him and Andrea were planning to get married, so Neil stole Tim Metcalfe's ladders and climbed up onto the roof of The Rovers Return in order to protest. Andrea attempted to retrieve Neil, but this caused her to end up dangling from the roof. Neil helped her from the ledge, and felt bad for the way he had behaved and nearly endangering her life, and he apologised. The emergency services were called and Neil was taken away in a police car.
Neil was let off with a caution. Finally accepting it was over with him and Andrea, he took up an engineering job at the Philippines and put the house up for rent. He turned up at Lloyd's place of employment Street Cars and revealed his plans to Lloyd and Andrea and that he was leaving the country, and apologised to her. Lloyd was delighted that Neil was finally going, and even gave him a free ride to the airport.
