The Viaduct Bistro (formerly The Joinery and Nick's Bistro) is a restaurant in Viaduct Street which overlooks the viaduct end of Coronation Street. It is situated in an arch of The Railway Viaduct. Nick Tilsley was the original owner, until Robert Preston took over in 2016. However the pair of them ended up becoming equal partners. Nick left in 2017 and Robert planned to make Michelle Connor a partner. Robert was killed in 2019. Ray Crosby took over the Bistro soon after Robert's death and later fled the street. Debbie Webster is currently manager of the Viaduct Bistro.

The Bistro is not an ideal place to enjoy a quiet meal as many locals seem to "air their dirty linen" there. Often a scandal revelation ends up with a food fight, or a huge Jerry Springer style punch up.

As "The Joinery" in 2010.

The Bistro The Bistro was originally opened as "The Joinery" in 2010, when Nick Tilsley decided to use the premises under the viaduct to set up his own business after leaving behind Underworld. He appointed his ex-wife Leanne Battersby as manageress, which was supported by her fiance Peter Barlow. However the pair of them ended up being close, with them having an affair.

Peter arranged for his stag night to be held at the Bistro in December 2010. On that night Nick decided to tell Peter the truth about what happened, however was stopped when the Bistro exploded due to faulty work and subsequently led to a tram crashing off the viaduct and into the street below. Nick and Ashley Peacock managed to help get out an unconscious Peter, however Ashley perished when he was crushed to death.

A couple of months later Peter confronted Nick in the ruins of the Bistro knowing about his affair with Leanne and the fact Nick recently tried to make Peter fall back off the wagon and onto the drink. Peter threatened to kill Nick, and told him the only reason he would let him live was because Nick saved his life.

As "Nick's Bistro"[]

After some renovations the bar was opened in early 2011, this time under the name "Nick's Bistro".

Nick left in 2017 and Robert planned to make Michelle Connor a partner. The Bistro was re-opened under the name 'The Viaduct Bistro' - however, Robert was killed in 2019.
