Tom Schofield was an unseen character and the brother of Ena Sharples. Tom had emigrated to America in 1912. He passed away in 1973.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Tom grew up at Inkerman Street in Weatherfield. He immigrated to America in 1912, and would lose contact with his sister for decades to come. In that time he built up a family, and had two children Tom Schofield II and Clifford Schofield. Tom ended up having a grandson, Tom Schofield III.

1965[]

When his grandson Tom was going to the United Kingdom in 1965, he asked him to track down his sister and invite her to visit him in America, with Tom offering to pay the fare. Younger Tom tracked down his great-aunt Ena, and persuaded her to come and visit her brother, whom she hadn't seen for 53 years. Ena initially refused citing her age, but later took up his other and went to the United States. When returning months later, she remarked how happy her brother was. That Christmas he sent Ena a rocking chair as a gift.

Death[]

Tom passed away in May 1973. Although devastated, Ena was glad that he didn't suffer.
