Tyrone Dobbs in 2018.
Tyrone Sylvester Dobbs is a character in Coronation Street who first appeared in Ep 4517 - 30 Nov 1998. He was originally a troublesome teen but matured into the respectable mechanic he is today. Lodging with Jack Duckworth and Vera Duckworth actually matured Tyrone and they saw him as more of a son to them than their own son Terry Duckworth who was a nasty piece of work. Tyrone entered a relationship with Fiz Stape. However since 2018 Tyrone has had a couple of trysts, first with Gemma Winter and then he cheated on Fizz with Alina Pop.
In November 2022, Tyrone started to take a darker turn, and became prone to violent outbursts. He is channelling Don Ken in the local Mafia Boss stakes.
Tyrone is played by Alan Halsall.

Tyrone was born on the 17th December 1982 in a Liverpool library to single 16 year old young woman Cassandra Plummer, Cassie was a sex worker living in Manchester at the time she fell pregnant, and may have known who the father was but never disclosed it to her mother. Cassie had run away to Liverpool, where she had lived until the age of 10 in about 1976.
Cassandra's mother Evelyn Plummer left the baby at a police station and the baby was adopted out to Jackie and Darren Dobbs and was named Tyrone Sylvester Dobbs. Tyrone had a bad upbringing with the Dobbs, as his father Darren was mostly absent and Jackie would be frequently locked up in prison for various offenses. She was again locked up in 1998 for assault.

In November 1998, Tyrone turned up on Coronation Street was a recently released Jackie and she reunited with her former cellmate Deirdre Rachid, although Deirdre didn't share the enthusiasm at meeting Jackie again. Tyrone and Jackie ended up staying at Curly Watts house while he was away. He attempted to have them evicted in 1999 but Jackie refused. Darren came to Weatherfield to collect Jackie and Tyrone and take them back to Liverpool. Tyrone didn't stick around long with his parents, and returned to Weatherfield and began staying with Jack and Vera Duckworth, who he regarded as his surrogate parents and they saw him as a son in return, more so than their troublesome biological son Terry Duckworth.
Tyrone found employment at the garage working for Kevin Webster. The pair of them became good friends.
Tyrone became dating Maria Sutherland. He later dated Fiz Brown. In 2005 he met baker Molly Compton and they began going out with each other and formed a close bond. In 2008 Tyrone decided to propose to Molly with the help of her auntie Pam Hobsworth. Jackie returned in Tyrone's life after ten years where she was in bother with a former lover, and Tyrone ended up having to bail her out of the situation. Tyrone and Molly married in January 2009, where Jackie was once again back and stole their wedding money.
Despite seemingly finding his true love, Tyrone was unaware that Molly began an affair with Kevin a few months later. Kevin broke off the affair on Christmas Day 2009 when finding out his wife Sally had cancer. Molly was heartbroken and in February 2010 she broke off with Tyrone and moved into the Corner Shop flat. Jackie returned to the area once again after finding out from Jack's friend Connie Rathbone, and began supporting her son. Despite Jackie's initial good intentions, she began to freeload off Tyrone and laze around the house. When Molly found out she was pregnant Tyrone got back with her and evicted Jackie from the house.
Molly gave birth to her son in September 2010, with Tyrone at the time believing the baby was his. He named the baby Jack in honour to Jack Duckworth. Tyrone was devastated when Jack passed away in November 2010 after months of health issues. Tyrone's world would continue to crumble when Molly decided to break up with him for good the following month. She revealed Jack wasn't his son, although didn't disclose the true father. Later that evening, a tram crashed into the street and Molly and Jack were trapped in the corner shop. Although emergency services managed to rescue Jack, Molly passed away from blood loss. During Molly's funeral, Tyrone worked out that Kevin was the father and punched him and knocked him into Molly's open grave. Later that day Tyrone gave up Jack to Kevin, not able to raise a son that wasn't his.
