Wilfred "Wilf" Starkey was a character in Coronation Street in 1985. He was a potman at The Rovers Return, Coronation Street. He first appeared in Ep 2490 - 11 Feb 1985 and last appeared in Ep 2543 - 14 Aug 1985. Wilf was played by Jim Bywater.

Backstory

Wilfred Starkey was born in about 1945-1950. He later worked in the pub trade as a potman.

Wilf took over as Rovers potman in February 1985 once Bet Lynch became landlady. The pub had not had a proper potman since Fred Gee was sacked 5 months earlier. By 1985, Fred was long gone from the area. In June 1985, Wilf stole some money but returned it and in August 1985 he was again accused of stealing by Bet. Turned out Ken Barlow had it and he returned the missing £5. Wilf had found another job by then so left work at The Rovers, never to appear in the pub again.
